ABSTRACT.- The Río de la Plata Grasslands (RPG) region is the largest area of the temperate humid and sub-humid grasslands biome in South America and one of the largest in the world. The region is located on fertile soils, generally very suitable for agricultural development, so it is undergoing an intense land cover change process. Our knowledge of these changes remains incomplete. Most regional-scale studies have been conducted over specific periods, limited subsets of the RGP, coarse resolution and, in general, used land cover classes that are not readily compatible.

Digital agriculture (DA) can contribute solutions to meet an increase in healthy, nutritious, and affordable food demands in an efficient and sustainable way. South America (SA) is one of the main grain and protein producers in the world but the status of DA in the region is unknown. A systematic review and case studies from Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, and Chile were conducted to address the following objectives:(1) quantify adoption of existing DA technologies, (2) identify limitations for DA adoption; and (3) summarise existing metrics to benchmark DA benefits.

El análisis que se presenta en este documento busca describir los aportes del INIA, a través de sus programas nacionales y sus proyectos, para generar un aumento de oportunidades de las personas para vivir una vida plena y saludable. Para describir el aporte del INIA al desarrollo humano son particularmente útiles los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible de las Naciones Unidas, un marco de referencia para los gobiernos, las empresas y la sociedad civil para generar acciones dirigidas a mejorar la calidad de vida de las personas.

El análisis que se presenta en este documento busca describir los aportes del INIA, a través de sus programas nacionales y sus proyectos, para generar un aumento de oportunidades de las personas para vivir una vida plena y saludable. ABSTRACT:The expansion and intensification of agriculture frequently affect riparian zones, mainly in basins where agriculture is the most important activity. In countries with basins dominated by agricultural activities, land use change in riparian zones promotes water quality loss and biodiversity degradation. As a tool to prevent these environmental impacts, the delimitation of riparian zones and buffer strips is crucial. For that purpose, photo interpretation jobs and botanical studies are usually necessary.
