● (NAS)
1-1. To generate drought-tolerant transgenic soybean plants by altering the expression of novel stress responsive genes, such as GAPDH, GRX, MSR etc.
1-2. To establish quantification techniques for a drought tolerance assessment using phenomics technology
● (UdelaR)
1-3. To generate soybean genotypes with reduced stress-induced expression of chloroplast vesiculation (CV) genes by CRISPR/Cas-based promoter editing.
1-4. To generate DHN, P5CS and PsbS-overexpressing soybean genotypes with increased drought tolerance.
1-5. To establish a standard operation protocol for field phenotyping for drought tolerance of transgenic or edited soybean genotypes, and to use this protocol to evaluate the performance of the soybean genotypes developed by Korea and Uruguay within the scope of this project.
1-6. To introgress the transgenes developed by Korean groups into soybean genetic materials adapted to Uruguay environment.
