ABSTRACT. The dissipation of field-applied difenoconazole, imidacloprid, pyraclostrobin and spinosad on Clementine mandarins (Citrus clementina Hort. ex Tan.) under controlled conditions throughout the citrus production chain was assessed. At harvest, 42 days after application, the dissipation of these pesticides were 80, 92, and 48% for difenoconazole, imidacloprid, pyraclostrobin, respectively, and spinosad was below the level of detectability. At day 28 after application, spinosad was no longer detected.

Diversity and virulence of Diaporthe species associated with wood disease symptoms in deciduous fruit trees in Uruguay.

SUMMARY. Several Diaporthe species are recognized as causal agents of many plant disease symptoms, including twig and branch cankers, dieback, shoot blight, and root and fruit rots. In Uruguay, the proximity between apple, pear and peach orchards offers the possibility to study the presence of different Diaporthe spp. associated with wood cankers across different deciduous fruit trees. Symptomatic twigs and branches of these orchard species were sampled, and isolates of Diaporthe were obtained. Selected isolates were used for cross inoculations in the three hosts. Seven Diaporthe spp.

[Soil properties and root system after four years of direct drilling of winter growing forage on a native grassfield dissected with herbicides].

Streptomyces for sustainability.

ABSTRACT. Streptomyces is a genus of gram-positive bacteria with a mycelial growth habit and the ability to produce spores. Due to their unparalleled ability to produce antibiotics, most of the early research carried out on Streptomyces was antibiotic discovery-driven, with over two thirds of antibiotics used for medical purposes originally isolated from Streptomyces .

ABSTRACT. Serratia marcescens is a Gram-negative bacterial species that can be found in a wide range of environments like soil, water and plant surfaces, while it is also known as an opportunistic human pathogen in hospitals and as a plant growth promoting bacteria (PGPR) in crops.

ABSTRACT. Grapefruits are sensitive to develop chilling injury (CI) on the peel upon postharvest storage at low temperature. We investigated the influence of the storage at 2 and 12 °C on CI, carotenoids, and emission of volatiles by intact fruit. CI symptoms at 12 °C were restricted to green fruit peel sectors but at 2 °C the CI severity was higher and distributed through the whole fruit surface. Fruit peel coloration and carotenes content increased at 12 °C whereas experienced minor changes at 2 °C.
