ABSTRACT.- The fungus Monilinia fructicola, which causes brown rot in fruits, is one of the main peach pathogens. The emergence of fungicide-resistant fungus isolates, as well as the attempt to reduce sprays, favors adoption of other control strategies. Among them, one of the most important is genetic resistance. This study was carried out aiming to evaluate the susceptibility of 16 peach and 4 nectarine genotypes to brown rot, as well as to evaluate how well the sporulation area and diameter correlate with number of spores in the lesions.

ABSTRACT.- Variability of methane (CH4) emission in sheep and impact of selecting low emitting individuals are investigated as part of greenhouse gas mitigation strategies. This study aimed to estimate the correlations between CH4 and different production traits in Australian Merino.

ABSTRACT.- Breeding sheep for low methane (CH4) emissions is an attractive mitigation strategy which implementation requires exploring the impact on other traits. This study aimed to explore these associations by comparing the performance of animals classified by CH4 emission.

ABSTRACT.- In highly modified agricultural settings, it is now necessary to consider the management of plant diseases, insect pests and weeds within the One Health concept, to acknowledge that the health of plants, animals, environment and people are interlinked and interdependent. Articles included in this special issue of Sociedad Uruguaya de Fitopatología contribute to communicate scientific advances that will foster the sustainable management of diseases, pests and weeds in Uruguay and neighbouring countries.
