Family Farm Production

PROGRAM OBJECTIVE

 

Contributing from scientific research and technological development to the improvement of the social, economic and environmental sustainability of Uruguayan family farming systems, fostering the development of the rural environment and enhancing the welfare of its community.

CURRENT RESEARCH:
 
Northern Region:
•        Sustainability of grazing livestock production systems on vasaltic soils.
•        Economic, social and environmental indicators of family farming systems combining  livestock and vegetable production.
•        Sustainability of vegetable farms.
 
Eastern Region:
•        Sustainability of grazing livestock production systems in Estern Region hills.
•        Economic, social and environmental indicators of family farming systems combining livestock with vegetable and/or swine production.
•        Sustainablility of vegetable farms.
 
Southern Región:
•        Sustainability of mixed production systems (livestock, vegetable and dairy production systems).
