ABSTRACT:Genotype x environment interaction (G x E) is the differential response of genotypes in different environments and represents a major challenge for breeders. Genotype x year-interaction (G x Y) is a relevant component of G x E, and accounting for it is an important strategy for identifying lines with stable and superior performance across years.
El CRILU consideró al premio INNOVAGRO como una oportunidad para complementar acciones y buscar sinergias en pos de alcanzar objetivos comunes, tal así que en el mes de mayo el CRILU comenzó a preparar su postulación a esta importante instancia en la categoría innovación institucional.
En esta oportunidad hemos pensado en compartir con ustedes detalles de las actividades en las cuales participó el CRILU más allá de la cordillera de Los Andes. Una delegación de Uruguay integrada por Lic. Sebastián Oviedo, Ings. Francisco Donagaray e Ignacio De Barbieri, participaron del Seminario Internacional de la Red INNOVAGRO, del Foro de Innovación Agraria, de la ?Ruta de la Innovación? y recibieron formalmente el premio INNOVAGRO 2015 a la innovación institucional (descripto en hoja de divulgación N° 24).
La presente Hoja de Divulgación tiene como objetivo proporcionar información sobre los resultados obtenidos en la Licitación 2014 de carneros del Núcleo Genético Ultrafino del CRILU.
ABSTRACT. Water is usually the main limiting factor for soybean productivity worldwide and yet advances in genetic improvement for drought resistance in this crop are still limited. In the present study, we investigated the physiological and molecular responses to drought in two soybean contrasting genotypes, a slow wilting N7001 and a drought sensitive TJS2049 cultivars. Measurements of stomatal conductance, carbon isotope ratios and accumulated dry matter showed that N7001 responds to drought by employing mechanisms resulting in a more efficient water use than TJS2049.
ABSTRACT. Enterococci, in particular vancomycin-resistant enterococci (VRE), are a leading cause of hospital-acquired infections. Promoting intestinal resistance against enterococci could reduce the risk of VRE infections. We investigated the effects of two Lactobacillus strains to prevent intestinal VRE. We used an intestinal colonisation mouse model based on an antibiotic-induced microbiota dysbiosis to mimic enterococci overgrowth and VRE persistence. Each Lactobacillus spp.
ABSTRACT. Management practices used in maize production have an impact on soil agro- ecosystems where different microbial communities coexist. Soil inhabiting bacteria are numerous and diverse, but we know very little about their ecological distribution. Here we analyzed the bacterial community diversity in the rhizosphere of two transgenic maize cultivars, in agricultural soil before sowing and in non-cultivated soil in an experimental site in the south region of Uruguay.
