Bajo la consigna "¿Qué hay detrás de??" el stand del Instituto Nacional de Investigación Agropecuaria (INIA) volvió a decir presente en la Expo Prado e invitó a descubrir los aportes científicos que hay detrás de productos cotidianos como la carne, la lana, las mandarinas, las frutillas, el papel, el pan, el arroz y la leche. El espacio fue premiado nuevamente con el primer puesto en la categoría "Organismos", tras ser evaluado por expertos que integran el jurado de stands de la Asociación Rural del Uruguay.

ABSTRACT.- Humans place strong pressure on land and have modified around 75% of Earth's terrestrial surface. In this context, ecoregions and biomes, merely defined on the basis of their biophysical features, are incomplete characterizations of the territory. Land system science requires classification schemes that incorporate both social and biophysical dimensions.
ABSTRACT.- The Río de la Plata Grasslands (RPG) region is the largest area of the temperate humid and sub-humid grasslands biome in South America and one of the largest in the world. The region is located on fertile soils, generally very suitable for agricultural development, so it is undergoing an intense land cover change process. Our knowledge of these changes remains incomplete. Most regional-scale studies have been conducted over specific periods, limited subsets of the RGP, coarse resolution and, in general, used land cover classes that are not readily compatible.

Digital agriculture (DA) can contribute solutions to meet an increase in healthy, nutritious, and affordable food demands in an efficient and sustainable way. South America (SA) is one of the main grain and protein producers in the world but the status of DA in the region is unknown. A systematic review and case studies from Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, and Chile were conducted to address the following objectives:(1) quantify adoption of existing DA technologies, (2) identify limitations for DA adoption; and (3) summarise existing metrics to benchmark DA benefits.
