Sodium accumulation vs. nitrate leaching under different fertigation regimes in greenhouse soils in South Uruguay.

ABSTRACT.- In greenhouse conditions, soil salinity and N leaching depend on the provision of irrigation, the irrigation water quality and the application of fertilizers and organic amendments. The objective of this study was to quantify and analyze the accumulation and/or leaching process of NO3- and Na+ in greenhouse tomato production in the south region of Uruguay in fine-textured soil under different fertigation regimes. The study was conducted in four tomato crops during 2019/20/21 seasons. Three fertigation regimes were applied. Irrigation volume was the same for all treatments.

ABSTRACT.- Brown rot and blossom blight caused by fungi of the genus Monilinia are the most important peach diseases. The increased concern with the environment and the health of workers and consumers, as well as the emergence of fungus isolates resistant to the main fungicide molecules favor control strategies such as genetic resistance.

ABSTRACT.- Bacillus sensu lato were screened for their capacity to mineralize organic phosphorus (P) and promote plant growth, improving nitrogen (N) and P nutrition of soybean. Isolates were identified through Type Strain Genome Server (TYGS) and Average Nucleotide Identity (ANI). ILBB95, ILBB510 and ILBB592 were identified as Priestia megaterium, ILBB139 as Bacillus wiedmannii, ILBB44 as a member of a sister clade of B. pumilus, ILBB15 as Peribacillus butanolivorans and ILBB64 as Lysinibacillus sp.

ABSTRACT.- Precision chemical thinning is the most common method of thinning apple fruitlets because it requires little time and is cost-effective. The aims of the current study were I.- to investigate the effect of the application of metamitron at different rates on 'Gala' apples; II.- to determine which fruit diameters were most sensitive to metamitron spray at several rates (between 180 and 500 ppm); and III- to identify the key environmental factors that explain Metamitron efficacy on a year-to-year basis.
